West Coast coach John Worsfold says stopping in-form Adelaide forward Simon Goodwin will be the key to victory when the Eagles take on the Crows at Subiaco Oval on Saturday night.

When the two teams met in round two, Goodwin booted 7.3 in a match-winning effort to lead the Crows to a crushing 76-point AFL victory.

Worsfold said he was yet to decide whether to play a defender or a tagger on Goodwin, who has booted 23 goals in eight games this season.

"We are going to have a good look at their whole forward line structure and then work out the best match-ups," Worsfold said.

"Simon Goodwin is a good leading forward and we have to be able to stop that and the best way to stop that is to make it a little bit tougher in terms of them getting the ball in there.

"He's a difficult match-up because he's such a good player but we are confident we can put enough pressure on him to stop a repeat of last time.

"It could go back to a (Adam) Selwood type again or we might go for a Brett Jones type (to man him up)."
